17 inches.......GONE!

I finally did it. I've talked about it for months and months. Just ask Jeff, he told me to "Poop or get off the pot". I guess he was sick of hearing me talk about it. I hesitated for so long that a friend of mine finally just made the appointment for me. She and I went together to get our hair done. It was funny, the hair dresser didn't know what was coming. I showed her the picture and all she could say was "Wow!". I think because I was thinking and talking about it for several months I wasn't even nervous when the time came to just do it. I was really excited about it actually. She did an awesome job. I absolutly love it! Now I just need to color it. This is the first time my hair has been it's natural color since I was in high school. It's too plain, that's why I color it. It feels so weird not having any hair on my neck, or to run my fingers through. It totally feels like I'm wearing a wig, a cute wig! I'll be sending 14 inches of it to Locks of Love. It's the first time I've donated my hair, so I'm happy to do it. She ended up cutting a total of 17 inches! The most I have ever cut at one time. Sad, but good too. Here is my little goodbye note that I wrote on my Facebook page:
Dear luscious locks, you have been so good to me the past 4 years. We have had our good and bad times. You look fantastic when I want you too, you don't fly away, and you hold your color like a champ. I love the compliments that I get because of you (the old ladies especially love to compliment and touch you). You have so many different looks it's hard to choose which way to wear you. My favorite though is when you are long and curly I feel so pretty when you hold that curl. I'm sad to say that our time has come to move on. You must go now to someone who needs you more than I. Someone who isn't able to grow you the way I can. I hope they will enjoy you as much as I have. Be good to them, and continue to look as beautiful as ever. Tomorrow will be a sad, but great day, a change for both of us. Goodbye long beautiful hair, you will be missed.

Oh my gosh it really is gone, AHHHH!

Like it so far

WOW! Is that really 14 inches

Don't cry Kaylor, it'll grow back so that you can grab it and pull on it again!

So SHORT!

This is Caity, the one who made me go!

Sushi, Family, FUN!

Jeff wanted endless sushi from Benihana's for his birthday. So that's what we did. It saved me from having to cook. It was totally worth it too!

We arrived 15 minutes early so we killed the time taking some fun family photos

This was round 1

Jeff enjoying his sushi....(he he :), he's gonna kill me for posting this one)

Round 2

We couldn't finish round 2, we really thought we would be able to eat more. It was still worth it though, we ate more than our money's worth. It was so yum!

Kaylor TOTALLY loved the high chair. She was letting everyone know she was in the restaurant being very talkative. Then she decided to pass out before our food came.

Happy Birthday again Jeffy! Hope you had a wonderful day!

The big THREE OHHH!

Today is Jeff's 30th birthday. I had been plotting for at least the past year of what I wanted to do for his 30th. I thought to myself, "What would Jeff want to do for his 30th birthday? Or better yet where would he want to go?" He has told me several times that one of his top places to go some day is Rome, so that's where I wanted to take him. I got buddy passes from my dad, started looking at places to stay, and even borrowed some Italy travel books from a friend that was going to go this year. Since I work the graveyard shift I have a lot of free time on my hands, so I thought for sure I would be able to plan this trip no problem. One night I printed off a March calendar with dates on it, and decided to write on it where I wanted to be on those dates. I was hoping to visit three cities while we were there, Rome, Florence and Venice. So I wrote on the calendar which cities we would be in and for how long. I folded this up and put it in my pocket. When I got home the next morning I emptied my pockets, and put this on the counter under my lunch box. You can probably see where this is going. Stupid me left it there, not just for one day, but for at least three days. Well if anyone knows Jeff, he like his house tidy. He was tidying up the kitchen one day, and was about to just throw the paper away, but then thought to him self that he'd better look and make sure he can throw it away. I was in the room getting Kaylor out of her bassinet and in walks Jeff, this is how it went...............

Jeff: "Um, Nicole, if you want to keep secrets from me you probably shouldn't leave stuff like this lying around." (Shows me the paper)

Nicole: "DAMN IT!" (excuse my language, but what else could I say, my secret was RUINED.)

Jeff has a big smile on his face, so he was obviously pleasantly surprised.

Nicole: "Well, would you like to go to Rome for your 30th birthday?"

Jeff: "Hell yes I would!"

Nicole: "Good, now you can help me plan it. It will be easier to plan it now anyway."

I was soooooooooo disappointed that I didn't get to surprise him, and see the look on his face. I love doing things like that. Especially since I had been thinking about it for a while on how I was going to surprise him. In the end it turned out to be a good thing he found out. Before Jeff ruined his surprise we had begun our house hunting process AGAIN. We also made the decision that we would like to have his Papa (grandpa) move in with us, so that someone could be with him more often. He is 96 and lives on his own. He does well taking care of himself, but he doesn't eat the way that he should. It would also be good to just have someone there that would be able to make sure all is well on a daily basis. So we ended up finding a house that we thought would be suitable for all of our needs, put in an offer, and have played the waiting game ever since. (More on that in a later post) Since we put in this offer, we realized that we need to save some more money for the down payment. So we talked about it and decided that yes it would be nice to take a dream vacation to Italy right now, it would be even better for us to finally own our own home. So that is the decision we made, Italy will have to be some other time. It all works out any way, as much as I am disappointed we aren't going. We wouldn't have taken Kaylor, which meant I would have had to pump while over there, and had to start her on solid food earlier than I wanted to. I'm glad I didn't have to do all that. So Rome will have to wait, but we hope to be in our own place here in the very near future.

Back to the main reason for this post. I wanted to give something to Jeff.

29- your hot bod, and that you don't look 30.
Last but most certainly not least
30- you for being you.

Happy birthday sweetie I hope you had a wonderful 30th birthday.
p.s. Don't look at 30 as being old, because you don't look a day over 24. I just like to give you crap for being old because I'm not 30 yet. You can let me know how it feels when I turn 30 in two years.

Dentist

Yesterday I had my final visit to the dentist for a while, for two reasons. 1-They have officially robbed me. The stupid bill is going to be close to ONE THOUSAND BUCKS....GRRRRRR! I can think of a thousand things that I would rather spend $1,000 dollars on! 2-It feels like I got punch in the face today! The left side of my face is so sore. I had to think about why it was sore this morning, the first thing that came to mind was "Did Jeff elbow, punch, or kick me in his sleep last night?" No he didn't do that but he did rip the blankets off of me, went out to the living room and slept for a couple of hours. I'm officially done with the dentist this year! Ok at least until August when my next check up is. Did I mention that the reason for this last visit was to get re-work done on stuff that had already been done! Stupid Utah dentist that screwed up my mouth, and now I get to pay for it, again! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
